Let’s talk puppies! Because everyone loves them and there is always a light-hearted fight on mantrailing sessions to hide for the puppy!

I often get asked “what age can my puppy start mantrailing?”.
As soon as your puppy can safely go outside the home for walks, they’re absolutely okay to start mantrailing, so that’s generally around 12 weeks’ old. If your puppy is younger, feel free to reach out for a chat by phone or text and get them booked in for when they’re ready.
Things to consider:
Mantrailing builds and strengthens your bond with your dog. If you start when they’re a puppy, you start cementing a beautiful bond even earlier
When they know the game your puppy will have something they’re enjoying and focussed on, whatever they encounter. What better way for them to encounter their first goose or swan than while happily trailing past one! Other dogs? They have something to focus on so they don’t have to worry about greetings yet. Even meeting new people can be a big deal for a puppy, this way they have positive experiences and it's a safe environment.
Mantrailing grows confidence by encouraging your dog to make decisions, work things out, take the initiative - what better gift to give your puppy than confidence in theirself and the world around them?!
Mantrailing tires your dog out. Brainwork and nosework fatigues them in a good way - a kind of satisfied feeling after a job well done. Puppy napping when you get home while you get other things done? Yes please!

Don’t wait for your puppy to get older to start mantrailing - there’s so many benefits to starting as early as possible, and you’ll make everyone else at the session happy too!
If you have a puppy and would like to discuss getting them booked in, email me for a chat. And if you’re ready to take the plunge and book their introduction session - go to Book a service and choose your date!
